We are a well-established team, who have known and worked with each other for many years. We share the same desire to help and support clients, whether that be through workshop design and delivery, personal tutoring for a qualification or executive coaching.

Clare Smale - Director inspired2learn

Clare Smale BA (Hons) PGCE FRSA - Clare is the lead tutor and assessor for ILM coaching and mentoring qualifications. She is an expert in coaching and has published two books:

  • Transform your Goals with VISION
  • The A-Z Coaching Handbook
  • and a pack of Coaching Cards

Clare works closely with a wide variety of clients to design and deliver specialist training in coaching (including ILM qualifications) for beginners through to advanced skills such as NLP. Clare is an NLP Master Practitioner and trainer and delivers NLP programmes up to Practitioner Level. She is a very well regarded executive coach, trainer and speaker in a wide variety of organisations and is part of the VISTAGE speaker network. LinkedIn profile

Barrie Smale MA CMgr FCMI FCIPD FInstLM -  For over 20 years Barrie has been involved in the design & delivery of a wide variety of accredited and non-accredited development programmes to a diverse range of clients across different sectors, both in the UK and overseas. Helen Hardman BSc (specialist dyslexia tutor) has extensive experience of assessment, teaching, and study support at all ages, including experience in the workplace advising employers and employees on managing learning.  Helen’s career has been in Education, starting as a classroom teacher, GCSE and A level examiner, before training as a Specialist Dyslexia Tutor and Assessor. She has a Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties and holds The Practising Certificate for Assessment, being a member of PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties) and AMBDA (Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association).

Heather Humphries MCIPD is an assessor for CMI Management and Leadership qualifications (CMI). Heather worked in the public sector for 30 years in a variety of management roles including internal consultancy and training, assessment and verification. She is currently Director of her own retail company which she runs with her husband.  Heather has been an assessor with i2L since 2008 and enjoys reading learners' work-based examples when reviewing assignments.  In her spare time she loves long walks in the countryside with her two border terriers. 

Terry Mills FIC CMC MCMI is an associate trainer and assessor for CMI Professional Consulting and Management and Leadership qualifications. Most of Terry's work has been in the public sector and his roles have involved him working with many of the Whitehall Departments and many smaller agencies. Other recent examples include: Namibia to deliver accredited consultancy training to 30 members of the Namibian Office of The Prime Minister. Fire & Rescue services, County Councils, Dept for Work and Pensions, Ministry of Justice, MOD, HMRC and States of Jersey. And in the private sector a large food processing company, a demolition / construction company and IT software companies. Terry has very strong links with The Institute of Consulting and Chartered Management Institute and has provided his services as an assessor, judge and adviser. He is an independent Apprenticeship End Point Assessor with the CMI at Levels 3 & 5.

Emily Proom LLM MA MCIPD is an associate tutor for CMI Management and Leadership qualifications. Emily is a leadership and management specialist and qualified HR professional. She has held management roles in the Civil Service, Health and Housing sectors and has been involved in the design and delivery of Leadership and Management training and CMI (Chartered Management Institute) qualifications for the past ten years within Local Government. She holds Occupational Psychology qualifications and is an experienced trainer, coach, assessor and verifier. Emily brings together her understanding of people and passion for learning to assist teams, managers and elected Councillors to build confidence, skills and become more effective in their roles. Emily also leads Women in Leadership programmes which focus on developing female leaders and provides personal development training using the FREEDOM method to empower women to make positive changes in their lives.

Helena Scott BA (Hons) Chartered MCIPD is an associate tutor with CMI Management and Leadership qualifications. Helena is an experienced, passionate and commercially focused and strategic HR Business Partner with a strong background managing change programmes, specifically M&As, TUPE and benefits harmonisation as well as both 1st and 2nd line management.   Helena has solid experience across the full spectrum of HR and consistently recognised for being an excellent communicator and influencer at all levels, with a logical and calm approach to managing both projects and teams.   Helena has the ability to build strong relationships and credibility quickly, resulting in the ability to hit the ground running and consistently challenge leadership teams and influence strategy planning and implementation where necessary.  Helena's breadth of experience spans many industries: telecoms/technology, hospitality & travel, contract services, manufacturing, pharma/med devices and most recently iNGO.

Julie St Jean Dick Cert Ed. is an associate tutor and assessor for CMI Management and Leadership qualifications. She is a management and business development specialist, skilled in both group facilitation and individual learning through coaching. Using her extensive learning and development experience and that as an operational manager, Julie has delivered and designed bespoke leadership and team building events across the private and public sectors at all levels. Her work is underpinned by accelerated learning techniques and NLP principles. More recently, Julie works with the voluntary and public sectors providing employability programmes and first step qualifications. In so doing, she has successfully engaged hard to reach learners not in education, employment or training. 

Russell Stratton MA is an associate assessor and tutor for CMI Management and Leadership qualifications. He is an accomplished management and learning and development professional with a proven track record of working with clients in the public, voluntary and private sectors. Russell specialises in providing business-focused learning solutions and is able to provide added value to clients working with them to achieve lasting, measurable, step changes in business performance. Through experiences as both a Personnel Manager and an Operational Manager he is able to successfully link both theory and practice to provide practical solutions for clients’ development requirements.

Caroline Talbott BSc (Econ) MCIPD MICF is an associate trainer for ILM Coaching and Mentoring qualifications. She has over 37 years of business experience in organisations ranging from global blue chip, through to professional services to public sector and not for profit. She is an Accreditation Assessor with the Association for Coaching (AC) and is qualified in a range of coaching related disciplines. The author of a widely acclaimed book on coaching, she has also published articles in Coaching at Work Magazine.

Steve Thom is an associate trainer for Mindfulness. Steve has over 15 years of experience working Local Government where he has worked as a manager, organisational development facilitator, coach and trainer.  His training specialisms include coaching, leadership development and communication skills.  He is a Level 5 ILM qualified coach and has been coaching since 2007.  He has worked with managers and staff at all levels to help them maximise their performance and improve their confidence. In 2012, Steve became interested in mindfulness and has attended Foundation Teacher training at the Centre for Mindfulness Research, Bangor University and is also an accredited WorkplaceMT Trainer. He has been trained by Juliet Adams and Marina Grazier, who have been at the forefront of developing workplace mindfulness, both in the UK and internationally. In his spare time, Steve loves to roam in the countryside and he’s also a volunteer ranger for the Mendip Hills AONB. 

Nigel Ward MSc MEd MBA FIET Chartered MCIPD MCMI is an associate trainer and assessor for CMI Professional Consulting and Management and Leadership qualifications. Nigel is currently serving the private, voluntary and public sectors; offering a complete end-to-end business change management service, providing expertise in tailored training and development as well business / organisational transformation initiatives through their full life-cycle in the following areas:
• Business Analysis, Consultancy and Change Management.
• Communications and Stakeholder Management.
• Change Leadership and Continuous Improvement Methodologies including Lean, Six Sigma and Soft Systems Methodology.
• Chartered Management Institute Professional Consulting and Management and Leadership Qualifications.
• Creative Problem Solving including Thinkbuzan Licensed Instructor for Mind Mapping.

As a 'Pracademic' he has been invited to support conferences as a Speaker and Workshop Facilitator on Change and Continuous Improvement and jointly run three Communities of Practices.  Nigel is also Unit Leader and Associate Lecturer for Manufacturing Operations (Lean Six Sigma) at Solent University and is Course Leader for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (Distance Learning) and Project Management (work for BAE / University) at the University of Portsmouth and Senior Teaching Fellow for Business Improvement and Creativity and Postgraduate Lecturer on Change Management.

Natalie Watkins BA (hons) MCIPD is an associate trainer for CMI Management and Leadership and ILM Coaching and Mentoring qualifications. Natalie has over ten years experience in HR management roles, including leadership and management learning design and delivery. She is an experienced coach and creates a relaxed, challenging and thought provoking learning environment. Her career spans management, HR, L&D, business partnering and coaching. Natalie's work is influenced by mindfulness, clean coaching, psychometrics and NLP. Natalie lives in Wiltshire with her young family and two recently adopted 'golden oldie' cats. She is a volunteer mentor with the ASPIRE foundation, mentoring women from voluntary and not for profit organisations.

Peter Williams MA is an associate tutor for CMI Management and Leadership qualifications. Peter has operated in a variety of Executive and Senior Operational Management roles, primarily within the Voluntary / Charitable Sector, for over 30 years. He has significant experience within Corporate Governance and a proven track record of leading on, and managing significant transformation and change agendas. Drawing together his knowledge of both theory and practical application, Peter has been more recently and directly been supporting SME Business owners through the implementation of his coaching and Peer Board Business. Peter has a real passion for delivering change and Organisational Development applying authentic management styles, majoring on workforce management and the development of high performing teams. Other skill sets have included Project Management, Risk Management, PR, Marketing and sales. He has developed an authentic style in effective networking and relationship management applying coaching and mentoring skills.
